So, this happened
I totally blame Todd.
The little guy is due in October and so far all we've come up with for names are Yoda (a fairly apt description of most newborns but it might get old before he hits high school) and Potato (both Todd's contributions, shockingly). I do think Tatertot would be a cute nickname, but I think we'll keep looking until a less Star Wars-themed or vegetable-based name presents itself.
The kids are both super excited. They both wanted a boy, which was big improvement from their original request that I have twins (a boy and a girl) so they could each have their own personal baby sibling.
As a bonus, they're also getting two new cousins, since my brother Zach's wife, Christy, and my sister Julie are pregnant too. Christy's due in August and Julie in November. We're a very fertile family- seven kids, remember? The only sad part is that Julie's on the east coast and Christy and Zach are out here in CA so the three of us will never all get to compare bellies in person. However I'm seeing Christy this weekend and Julie in June when I visit RI so I will have to be the belly ambassador.
